2. Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create a new task?
Tap the "+" button in any tab (Habits, Plans, Lists, or Calendar). Choose the type of task you want to create, fill in the details, and save. You can also use templates from the Template Gallery for quick setup.
Can I sync my data across devices?
By default, your data is stored locally on your device for maximum privacy. Premium users can enable cloud sync in Settings to sync data across multiple devices securely.
How do I set up notifications?
Go to Settings → Notifications. Enable notifications and choose your preferences for reminders, daily summaries, and habit streaks. Make sure notifications are also enabled in your device's System Settings for TodoAid.
What's the difference between Habits, Plans, and Lists?
Habits: Recurring tasks you want to build into routines (e.g., "Exercise daily", "Read before bed"). Track streaks and completion rates.
Plans: Multi-step projects or goals with subtasks and deadlines (e.g., "Launch a website", "Plan vacation").
Lists: Simple to-do lists for one-off tasks or grouped items (e.g., "Grocery list", "Weekend errands").
Can I export my data?
Yes! Go to Settings → Data Management → Export Data. You can export all your tasks, habits, and notes as a JSON file for backup or migration purposes.
Is my data private and secure?
Absolutely! By default, all your data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it. If you enable cloud sync (premium feature), your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

4. Technical Issues
Experiencing a technical problem? Try these troubleshooting steps:
App Crashes or Freezes
- Force quit the app and restart it
- Check if you're running the latest version (Settings → About → Check for Updates)
- Restart your device
- Ensure you have enough free storage space (iOS needs ~1GB free)
- If the issue persists, contact support with crash details
Notifications Not Working
- Go to iOS Settings → Notifications → TodoAid and ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled
- In TodoAid Settings → Notifications, verify your preferences are configured
- Check that Focus Mode or Do Not Disturb isn't blocking notifications
- Try deleting and recreating the specific task reminder
Sync Issues (Premium)
- Check your internet connection
- Go to Settings → Data & Sync → Tap "Force Sync Now"
- Sign out and sign back in to refresh your connection
- Ensure cloud sync is enabled in Settings
Data Not Saving
- Ensure you're tapping "Save" or "Done" after making changes
- Check available storage on your device
- Try force-quitting and reopening the app
- If using cloud sync, verify your internet connection

5. Account & Data Management
Creating an Account
You can use TodoAid without an account - all data stays on your device. To enable cloud sync and premium features, create an account in Settings → Account → Sign Up.
Changing Your Password
Go to Settings → Account → Security → Change Password. You'll need to enter your current password to set a new one.
Deleting Your Account
To permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data:
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Read the warning about data loss
- Confirm deletion by entering your password
- Your account and cloud data will be deleted within 30 days
Note: Local data on your device is not automatically deleted. You can remove it by uninstalling the app.
Backing Up Your Data
We recommend regularly backing up your data:
- iCloud Backup: Enable in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → TodoAid
- Manual Export: Settings → Data Management → Export Data (saves as JSON)
- Cloud Sync: Premium feature that automatically backs up to our secure servers
